Eastern region based Reggae Dance-hall artist Blaq Syrup has bitterly expressed his disappointment in one among the best radio presenters in the region Doctor Prekese, for calling him a “wee smoker” after he had finished performing at this years Eastern Music Awards Launch and Seminar which recently took off at Koforidua – Linda Dor.
The “Controlla” hitmaker has lamented on live radio about what had transpired after his cheery performance during the EMA Launch and Seminar where Dr Prekese who happened to be the MC of the event made a statement which he beleives was a threat to his brand.
“Why should you make such statement about me before all these people? You know, there were alot of music patrons and even the MUSIGA president with Richie of Lynx Entertainment was all around to grace the program with their knowledge and support and you called me a wee smoker before them?
That was bad and thank God I did not react equally to his words even though I was very angry. Dr Prekese has to come and apologize to me and my fans for attacking and defaming me before dignitaries all because I gave out an explicit performance“. he has told Gideon Kwaku Ofori on Nopras 107.5 Fm’s Showbiz Today show.
A viral video of the artiste after performing at the EMA2018 launch depicts the MC for the event Doctor Prekese attributing his energy to the influence of weed whiles the artiste was wowing the Audience.
After the performance, Dr. Prekese, the MC said “….wee yi de3, egyes3 me hyee bi 3ny3 saa…” which literally mean, “…he has to smoke some of the weed else….”

Fans of the artiste has reacted to this statement from Doctor Prekese to apologize to their artiste and compensate him for defamation else they would take their grounds to seek legal actions against the presenter.
Blaq Syrup is among the few dominant Dance-hall acts in the Eastern Region who has made hit songs like “Rumor”, “Controlla”, “Life” among others.
