Abrantie Amakye Dede, a renowned singer from Ghana, has call on the authorities to make marijuana use legal in his country.
He says there is nothing wrong with smoking the herb in his opinion.
Despite the stereotypes associated with marijuana use, the artiste said that it does not necessarily make someone bad, if the person smokes.
Amakye Dede said in an interview with an Accra-based GHOne that if the government legalises weed “it would be nice.”
Despite his stance, he said, he does not smoke, stating that the first time he tried marijuana, he did not like it.
Amakye Dede is not the first famous celebrity to demand its legalization.
Reggae artist Blakk Rasta urged the government to build a factory that will produce marijuana among other things in 2018.
He pointed out that in addition to exporting the plant, the nation might also profit by having the factory turn marijuana into products like oil and other things.
Blakk Rasta recommended using limits to prevent the weed from being overused.
