Nigerian music has influenced the originality Ghanaian highlife- Naa Agyeman

Naa Agyeman, a highlife singer, has criticized Ghanaian highlife artists for unnecessarily incorporating Nigerian music into their compositions.

The veteran singer encourages Ghanaian highlife artists to create original highlife songs, even though he believes that merging highlife with foreign music is acceptable.

The highlife artiste said in an interview with Joy Prime’s KMJ that successive musicians haven’t done enough to produce genuine Ghanaian highlife music

Although the veteran artiste admits that civilisation has played a key role in the kind of music being produced, he insists that having the original Ghanaian rhythm in every highlife songs will help preserve the unique identity.
