Ras Kuuku, a Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall musician, has expressed his thoughts on the state of Reggae music in Ghana at the moment. He asserts that reggae music is “not dead,” despite what the general public may believe.

Ras Kuuku made this assertion response to a question posed to him   on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z last Saturday, about whether   Reggae Music is still relevant today in Ghana music.

“Reggae is not a TikTok song that would just come and boom up the whole place like two to three weeks and it’s gone”, he said.

“Reggae comes and stays forever, … for people to say that there is no reggae song or reggae artist or reggae is dying in Ghana… if you say that then I don’t know, anyone who says that is a hypocrite”. he added.

Ras Kuuku appreciated, however, the efforts Reggae musicians put into promoting their music, acknowledging that the genre needs extra effort to catch on with trends.
