Kwahu Republic, Organizers of Bliss on the Hills have given few days ultimatum to Shatta Wale to refund an amount of GH¢ 80,000 he took from the organisers but failed to turn up at the event after taking the cash.
The five [5] days music and sightseeing event which was held from December 25 to December 29 December 2018, had artistes from different genres to entertain residents and visitors.
Lovers of reggae and dancehall music had a very enjoyable experience from American reggae singer of Jamaican descent, Tarrus Riley, Samini, Stonebwoy, Ras Kuuku, Jupitar but were disappointed when dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale failed to perform to climax the dancehall concert on the night.
Information available to nkpromogh.com indicates that organizers of the event after numerous contact through to the SM Boss to refund the GH¢ 80,000 has not been successful.
According to a member of the Kwahu Republic Team, Shatta Wale arrived at the venue following which the organizers announced his presence and sent a member of his management team to demand for the final payment as stated in the contract agreed by both parties.
“We paid him and in fact, his management team came for the balance in the afternoon of the event day but Shatta Wale refused to show up that same night to perform as agreed. ”
Organizers paid the last installment to Shatta Wale with the belief that the ‘I Know My Level’ artiste is gearing up for the night but unfortunately refused to turn up when his time was up.
The source hinted that even though the organizers had met all the demands of the artiste before the event, Shatta Wale got to the event grounds few hours to the programme and made ‘outrageous’ demands.
The team member disclosed that it is unclear if it was because of the Hotel accommodation issues that led to the artiste failing to perform.
Explaining the accommodation arrangement agreed by both parties, the contract stated that the organizers will bear hotel expenses for the artiste and other four members of his management.
Shatta Wale told organizers, his management team members are closed to twenty so requested for more hotel rooms at the expense of the organizers of Bliss on the Hills.
Effort by this online news portal to reach out to the management team of Shatta Wale has proven unsuccessful.
’Bliss On The Hills’’ the annual Christmas program which brings a large number of fun-loving Ghanaians to Kwahu in the Eastern Region of Ghana for a week of music and other entertaining activities will be massive this year.
The Bliss on the Hills event is an initiative of Bryan Acheampong, MP for Kwahu Abetifi, who believes that these events will not only create avenues of economic empowerment for the people of Kwahu but will also establish a tourist platform for Ghanaians to exhibit their creative art skills, culture and lifestyle in various entertaining ways.
